I am sure that by now all the world has already found out and tested the cool new tool google launched yesterday: google trends… It is a very nice tool that allows you to see the searches done by peoples, on any keyword you are interested, have evolved over time. This doesn’t show ‘exact’ results, but instead is shows a nice graph with a visual representation of the ‘trend’. Another cool feature is that you get also some details about spikes on searches (on the right), and information about the locations of the peoples doing the searches (on the bottom of the page). You can also restrict the trend search by region or only some year or month in time. Very cool.

With all the hype over the iPhone I suppose it was only fitting that CNET produce a list of the 10 most hyped products that got the industry in a buzz.
* Segway - we all remember this one, it looked like the next product that would change the way we get around but never really took off
* 1984 Macintosh Computer - the hype began with the 1984 super bowl ad and never stopped
* XBOX 360 - this one needs no explanation but the lead up to launch saw a 30 hour marathon event in a Southern California desert where games could play their favourite titles
* PS3 - this one was a frenzy but well worth it
* Wii - this one was hyped but not as much, a lot of it’s power has come after it’s sale
* Windows 95 - the first real Microsoft OS that was accessed through a GUI
* Motorola RAZR - this is when thin became in
* Gizmondo - it was suppose to be the “be all” of devices but pretty bombed after launch
* PS2 - the one product that is still going strong and still sells a bundle of units a year
* World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade - the first expansion to the WOW scene and WOWers were really looking forward to it
